KATIE TARRANT
ABOUT
Biography
My name is Katie and I'm a 23 year-old composer and sound designer currently working for Rare. I graduated with a First Class Honours in music from Sir Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in 2016. A lover of music from a young age, I am also a guitarist, bassist and drummer, and have played in a wealth of bands throughout my music career. At university, I received a rounded education in music performance, production, business, and composition, and also discovered my passion for audio in media.
Shortly after graduation, I was privileged enough to be the first ever recipient of UK Music's 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' graduate award, and equally honoured the following year to receive King and Diversi's scholarship to attend the Game Developer's Conference 2017. As a composer, I have scored the music for independent film 'Deep Breaths', as well as several other student media projects and games. Alongside this, I teach music and write for the game audio website 'The Sound Architect'.
